lisabetta Marinai is a computer scientist at the Institute of Legal Information Theory and Techniques (ITTIG) of Italian National Research Council (CNR) since 1998.

Between 1989 and 1998 she has been working as a consultant in computer science and informatics in other CNR institutes (Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale and Opera del Vocabolario Italiano), in Accademia della Crusca, in Opera del Duomo S. Maria del Fiore di Firenze and in some university faculties participating at national and European projects (ACQUILEX, CEC, WORDNET) involved in humanities such as lexicography and semantics, literature and origin poetry, dialectology, musicology.

In ITTIG she is in charge of the operative unit “Data bases” and she is in charge of work package “Sistemi documentari per la dottrina giuridica e sistemi informativi specialistici” of the research job “Sistemi informativi per il diritto”.

She the co-ordinator of the DOGI editorial board. DoGi database is a legal literature repository providing abstracts of articles published in more than 250 Italian periodicals and essays published in Italian collective works. Moreover, she is one of the co-ordinators (in charge of the informatics section) of the DoGiS database, foreign legal literature repository, and the BEGA project (Bibliography of the antique legal editions in Italian), dealing with electronic editions of historical-legal document collections.

From 2014 she is in charge of the research unit ITTIG-CNR of a PRIN “A Reference Corpus for a New Dictionary of Modern and Contemporary Italian. Databases, backdating, innovations”. The aim of the research is to create a large “corpus of corpora”, as the first step for the construction of the new “Dictionary of Modern and Contemporary Italian”.
The research unit ITTIG-CNR has as its objective the selection of legal texts for the sampling of the legal lexicon, balanced selection between legislation, jurisprudence and doctrine, with temporal coverage unification of Italy to the present day.

From 2000 to 2004 she collaborated for the creation of NiR (“Norme in Rete” Legislation on the Net) portal, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Justice; she co-ordinated a specific work package (scientific partner of the Project) and she held XML and NIR standard courses for public institutions involved in the NIR project.
