L'esperimento d'information retrieval del consiglio regionale lombardo
Information Retrieval Experiment by the Regional Council of Lombardy
Viene descritto l’esperimento d’information retrieval promosso dal Consiglio regionale lombardo e realizzato dal gruppo di lavoro del prof. Mario G. Losano in collaborazione con l’ufficio legislativo del Consiglio stesso. Al momento della presentazione ufficiale dell’esperimento (2 luglio 1974) era stato memorizzato il testo integrale di circa 500 documenti giuridici per un totale di 6.791 articoli di legge (o unità documentarie, per i documenti non divisi in articoli), ma la seconda fase del programma prevede la memorizzazione di tutta la legislazione delle regioni a statuto ordinario. A una sintetica esposizione delle principali caratteristiche dello STAIRS - cioè del sistema di memorizzazione e reperimento delle informazioni messo a punto dell’I.B.M. e utilizzato per la realizzazione dell’esperimento del Consiglio regionale lombardo -, segue la descrizione delle modalità d’organizzazione del materiale giuridico, dei diversi problemi connessi alla standardizzazione e all’aggiornamento dei dati, delle varie categorie d’utenti del servizio, nonché delle molteplici possibilità di sviluppo futuro dello stesso.
The information retrieval experiment promoted by the Regional Council of Lombardy and carried out by Prof. Mario G. Losano's team in collaboration with the Legislative Office of the Regional Council is described. At time of the official presentation of the experiment (2 July, 1974) the full text of about 500 legal documents, representing some 6,791 articles of statutes and other laws (or documentary units for documents not divided into articles) had been stored. At a second stage the programme plans to store legislation passed by all regions except those with special constitutions. After a short description of the main features of STAIRS (the information storage and retrieval system designed by I.B.M. and used for the experiment the management of legal documents, the various problems involved in data standardization and in data up-dating, the different types of users of the service and possible future developments of the project are discussed.
