The User Adequate Design of the Interface between Lawyer and his Information System
This paper is a slightly changed version of the paper presented by the Author at the «Fifth Symposium on Legal Data Processing» (Vienna, 1979). The basic structures of information system – Svoboda points out – for the most part date back to the early 70's thus representing the then available and feasible knowledge concerning users and system technology. But since revolutionary innovations are not to be expected in the coming years (such as the utilization of artificial intelligence on a large scale, decisive findings in computer linguistics or in user analysis), at the moment it is of rather primary importance to utilise the findings originating from the gradually developing in this field. According to the Author it is of primary importance to pursue at the same time both the adaptation of the system to the user (in particular, to the legal user) and the influence on the user for increase and improvement of system usage.
Le strutture di base dei sistemi informativi ancor oggi in gran parte risalgono agli anni immediatamente seguenti il '70 e perciò rappresentano, per quanto riguarda gli utenti e la tecnologia dei sistemi, il grado di conoscenza allora conseguito. Dal momento, però, che nei tempi brevi è prevedibile che in questo campo non si verificheranno innovazioni rivoluzionarie (come potrebbero essere l' utilizzazione su larga scala dell' intelligenza artificiale o decisive scoperte nell'ambito della linguistica computazionale o nell'analisi dell' utente), è piuttosto d' importanza primaria applicarsi ad utilizzare i risultati attualmente conseguiti dalla ricerca nel suo graduale sviluppo. Nel perseguire questo obiettivo, secondo l'Autore è essenziale tendere contemporaneamente sia ad adattare il sistema informativo all'utente (e, in particolare, all'utente giurista) che ad influire su questo per metterlo in condizioni di aumentare e migliorare l'impiego del sistema stesso.
